Mother Doris Rule

State Supervisor of Northern IL. Jurisdiction

Mother Rule attended grammar school at Rosebank Community Elementary School. She began school at the age of six. She’s always been a smart student and was willing to learn. At Rosebank Community Elementary, she was always proactive and soon became the teacher’s assistant. She graduated from Rosebank Community Elementary as one of the top students in her class.

Mother Rule attended Mount Olive High School from 1955-1959. She always loved school and wanted to achieve as much as she could. She was very active in high school. She participated in spelling bee contests. She was a member of the drama club and she served as Chaplin. While she served as Chaplin, she realized that she had a much higher calling. She also participated for one year in the 4-H Club American Flag Contest. During this competition, the high school won first place in the local school. The school was chosen to represent the local district. Unfortunately, the school didn’t win at the competition; however, it was an honor for her to be chosen. In 1959, she graduated as Salutatorian of her class.

Mother Rule was a member of Rosebank Community Church. She sang in the choir, attended Sunday School and took part in children’s services. She also assisted her grandmother in her mission’s work by helping the elderly in the community and cooking throughout the year for them. Incidentally, this is how she became a great cook! She received her Evangelist license in 1968, under the leadership of Pastor C. Malone. Pastor Malone was under the leadership of the presiding Bishop J.O. Mason of the Northern Illinois Jurisdiction. She was appointed Vice- President of the Women’s Department at Jew Town Church of God In Christ after serving as Vice-President for about one year. After that, she began an outreach ministry, going door-to- door throughout the community. The church continued the ministry work by going to offer their assistance in nursing homes. She and the church went to homes that they felt needed urgent deliverance or where people were sick or were in need of encouragement. She and the church felt tremendously blessed with the services that were conducted. After a few months, people began to request them to come and visit their homes. The move of God was with them and blessed them.

Mother Rule has been blessed by God to be a vessel used through prayer and laying on of hands to heal: She was asked by a member of her church to pray for her sister who had been diagnosed with cancer. The young lady had undergone fourteen surgeries. Mother Rule was able to visit her along with other Missionaries. They began to pray and truly believed that God would heal her. They witnessed to her from the Word of God and prayed. Within two weeks, she was scheduled for another doctor’s appointment. After being examined by the specialist, there were no traces of cancer found. The ministry grew after the young lady gave her testimony. Mother Rule and the other Missionaries could hardly fill the calls to visit the people and to meet all of their needs.

Mother Rule was married to Emmitt Rule Jr. on New Year’s Day in 1961. The marriage was a blessed union and ordained by God. From the anointed union, six children were born. God blessed her to be a stay at home mother and raise her children. Mother Rule’s husband, Elder Emmitt Jr., was called to Pastor in 1974. They were both excited and fascinated by the work that the Lord was doing through their ministry. They ministered to the sick, homeless and the backslider. They ministered to whomever God chose to send. Soon the church began to grow. The anointing saturated the church. Healings were taking place, miracles were taking place and people were being filled with the Holy Ghost. They started their church in a store front church for three years and later moved to other locations. God blessed their ministry tremendously and placed them in a church in Crete, Illinois in 1998. The church continues to flourish to this very day, under the leadership of their son, Pastor Bryant Rule. Mother Rule truly loved her husband, Pastor Emmitt Rule Jr. until his dying day.

Mother Rule is the epitome of a true woman of God. She has been and continues to be an example of the proverbial woman. She is being used to bless the body of Christ. She is a blessed woman and an honored woman. Mother Rule may God continue to bless you for you are truly loved and needed in the body of Christ.

Acts 17:28a (NIV) “For in him we live, and move, and have our being.” is her favorite scripture.
